Reflection
In this topic I have learnt many things about ancient Egypt and how they have influenced our every day lives today. I found it fascinating the many ways they had to deal with the medical diseases that were thrown at them. For example dealing with even a headache they had a specific remedy and procedure they had to follow. I found out that Egyptians while had many gods each god played a part in their everyday lives. This i found incredibly fascinating. I also found that Egyptians while living in what we call a highly basic lifestyle, they still were able to do the same things we do today, only they used more natural resources rather than the classic ipad we use today. I loved exploring their religion and learning about the many gods that the had. I found it fascinating there ways of worshipping and comparing it to major religions today. I enjoyed learning about the procedures when someone was born - compared to present day now - it was crazy! For example if the woman was in pain we would give her pain killers or something stronger but Egyptians however would say an magic spell in which to remove the pain. At the beginning of the topic it was hard because i hadn't got a clear image of what i wanted to achieve, and i didn't really know where to begin. But once i had gotten over my first paragraph things started moving along well. For some topics, collection of information was hard, because not many sites gave me what i wanted to know. For example ways of worshipping took a long time because lots of sites said the same point and it really took a long time to find three key points of information that i could analyse and talk about. I had a problem in my 4th paragraph where i wrote it but i realised it was from an unreliable source because other sites where saying different things, so this was a decision i made to re-write this paragraph was made and this set me back behind y milestones because i had to regather all my information and start fresh. My aim for each paragraph was to find three or more key points of evidence and then research background knowledge on each point so i could explain in further detail. I choose my theme for my website because it was formal and easy to follow, it had each of the subtitles at the top of the website and people could follow it and see immediately what the website is about. This was my aim from the beginning. I had to change the font because the font the came with the theme was unreadable and hard to follow. I didn't choose a dark theme because white looks more formal and i wanted my website to look formal. I think weebly did well because i have achieved the look i wanted only i encountered one problem with the images. Weebly didn't accept more than 1 image in the text so it was hard to put related images next to the text i was talking about so it took longer than it should have to put related images into the text. Also about halfway through the unit i came back on to weebly and i had no paragraphs I had lost 2/6 paragraphs - the other ones were copied and pasted on to a word document! So yet another setback. Another problem i had was one time when i logged onto my weebly my screen was black and my theme kept swapping uncontrollably - it took a while but i just started a new website and i had all my paragraphs on word documents because of the previous setback. I really enjoyed this unit and it was cool to learn how to make a website so i could use it to use it as a presentation format for my other subjects.
