Doctors and thier patients
Like the medical journals we have today Egyptians went by a medical papyri which told them everything the thought they needed to know about medical practice. In ancient Egypt Egyptians followed by the three main papyrus's they had. The Ebers papyrus, Edwin Smith papyrus and the Kahun papyrus. All research that Egyptians had discovered or found out was contained in these papyrus's. It also contained spells and magic tricks in which to cure disease's that they had unexplained and could not figure out. Today with the growing technology and the ever changing medicine education we use websites, journals, courses and we have med-schools. Of course this was unavailable in ancient times. In our society today if you had not been through specific training you would be considered unfit for the medical position. This shows that Egyptians have taught us that we have to record all our medical knowledge and put volunteers through medical training in order to be a doctor/surgeon. Today we see doctors around wearing white lab coats or have stethoscopes around their necks. What if that was derived from ancient Egypt?. Traditionally Egyptian doctors wore white in order to distinguish themselves against the other civilians lives and make them feel important and high in the high-rakey. Today you see that some doctors wear white lab coats as a uniform to distinguish themselves from the patients and other workers in that area. Don't you think that maybe this was influenced by ancient Egypt? This shows that while ancient Egypt was hundreds of years ago, archeologists have still took the time to research them so that they can influence our first world lives. Today we use prescriptions for specific drugs and medicines. Archeologists ave discovered that Egyptians use prescriptions same as we do today. But on the prescriptions Egyptians wrote "honey, resins and metals" in which to treat wounds instead of a plaster or a white crepe dressing we would use today. As you can see Egyptians knowledge and understand of the worlds sickness was very wide. They had good logic and only went by what works. Although they had very short lives they did extremely well in which to cure diseases that occur.
